List of documents required for a request for legal aid
The following documents are necessary in order to get an overview of your financial situation. Based on this, the Court will decide whether to grant you financial assistance or not. It is therefore imperative to submit as many documents as possible and complete the necessary form.
Legal Aid Form
Completed, dated, and signed legal aid application form, which we will provide you with and which depends on the Canton:
- Vaud: under construction👷

Documents related to the income and expenses of your household
- [ ] Documents attesting to your income.
- [ ] If you are an employee, your last 6 payslips.
- [ ] If you receive bonuses or gratuities, your last 5 salary certificates.
- [ ] If you are self-employed, the latest balance sheet and profit and loss account.
- [ ] If you are unemployed, the last payslip received, the decision regarding received unemployment benefits, as well as evidence of your job search.
- [ ] If you are retired, proof of AVS and LPP pensions.
- [ ] Documents attesting to your other sources of income (family allowances, 3rd pillar pensions, property rentals, securities income, social assistance, additional income, etc.).
- [ ] Detailed statements of all your bank and/or postal accounts for the last 6 months (in Switzerland and abroad).
- [ ] Your latest tax return.
- [ ] Statement of your health insurance premium and any subsidy decision.
- [ ] Documents related to your life insurance.
- [ ] Your vehicle insurance policy.
