The following documents are necessary in order to get an overview of your financial situation and the possible consequences of divorce (liquidation of the matrimonial regime, maintenance contribution, division of occupational pension, etc.).
Documents related to your marital situation
- [ ] Your family record book (if you have received one).
- [ ] Your possible marriage contract or choice of foreign law.
- [ ] Your marriage certificate (in case of marriage abroad).
- [ ] Your divorce/separation judgment or other agreement.
Documents related to the income and expenses of your household
- [ ] Documents attesting to your income.
- [ ] If you are employed, your last 3 payslips and your latest salary certificate.
- [ ] If you receive gratuities or bonuses, your last 5 salary certificates.
- [ ] If you are self-employed, the latest balance sheet and profit and loss account.
- [ ] If you are unemployed, the latest payslip received, the decision regarding the unemployment benefits received, and the evidence of your job search.
- [ ] If you are retired, the AVS and LPP pension certificates.
- [ ] Documents attesting to your other income (family allowances, 3rd pillar pensions, property rental income, securities income, social assistance, ancillary income, etc.).
- [ ] Detailed statements of all your bank and/or postal accounts for the last 6 months (in Switzerland and abroad).
- [ ] Your last tax return.
- [ ] Your last tax assessment decision.
- [ ] Your health insurance premium statement and any subsidy decision.
- [ ] If you have life insurance or a bank 3rd pillar, the contract and the most recent surrender value, as well as any payments made.
- [ ] If you have legal protection insurance, the policy for it.
